Hours: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £37,000-£43,000  

ICS Health & Wellbeing are currently seeking a Health Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team. This team supports our current services, including the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme and Diabetes Remission. This role will see you supporting our operational, telephone-based team in giving motivational interviewing advice, developing behaviour change skills, input into Multi-Disciplinary Team projects and keeping up to date with CQC policies. You will have supervision from an experienced clinical psychologist and dietician specialist in diabetes.

Key tasks include:

  • Taking an active role in supporting and training our Patient Support Team (call-centre) from a clinical aspect and in all aspects of behaviour change/ motivational interviewing
  • Supporting the MDT in the creation, development, assessment and evaluation of our bespoke service in pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes remission and other public health/ disease areas
  • Supporting on the training needs of the company in a national capacity
  • Keeping up to date with all CQC regulations and requirements
  • Working autonomously, with supervision from clinical leads, to deliver clinical advice, where appropriate, and liaise with the clinical leads for more complex problems.
  • Where appropriate, manage clinical risk under supervision and in collaboration with the Psychology Clinical Lead
  • Being heavily involved in long term planning of services across the Health & Wellbeing division to ensure our framework is firmly rooted in the holistic, lifestyle intervention ethos.
  • Implementing ongoing service development to ensure service alignment and integration with existing Health and Wellbeing programmes
  • Assist with refining and developing clinical governance processes and procedures for the Health Coaches
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of training strategy for Health Coaches
  • Take an active involvement in assisting future Service bids and development of models of delivery, working collaboratively with Business Development

Skills and experience:

  • Masters in Health Psychology or related field with accreditation from relevant institute or profession 
  • Achievement of Part 2 Qualification in Health Psychology and meet standards for accreditation with relevant professional body, or equivalent relevant qualification.  
  • Previous experience working in a Multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge of behaviour change and/or obesity/diabetes/public health issues
  • Understanding of clinical risk management
  • Awareness and ability to manage clinical risk
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to establish credibility with peers
  • Ability to support peers, line managers and clients
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Leadership skills
