Hours - Monday-Friday

Salary - £30,000-£35,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Independent Clinical Services as a Commercial Contracts Officer. The role will involve reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts for divisions within the ICS Group, including working collaboratively with our Bid Team and reviewing contractual documentation that are part of a tender process to safeguard the ICS Group’s interests. The Contracts Officer will be required to liaise internally with the business and support functions, as well as externally with clients, third parties and external advisors to follow a contract review through to completion.

Key tasks include:

  • Reviewing and amending various third-party agreements (with supervision where appropriate) through to execution
  • Advising the business on risks within any contractual provisions reviewed.
  • Conducting and supporting negotiations with clients to achieve the best position for the business.
  • Inputting contractual documentation onto the commercial contract database in accordance with company processes.
  • Research into and resolving of contract issues.
  • Liaising with the group’s Legal Adviser and/or Senior Bid & Contracts Manager to ensure appropriate processes are followed and required approvals received. 
  • Preparing documents and communications (with supervision where appropriate) relating to contract review.
  • Proof-reading all documentation and communications.
  • Maintaining efficient, complete, auditable filing in line with department’s filing policies for all documentation and correspondence.
  • Dealing promptly with any contractual queries and/ or requests from the business and internal support teams.


Skills and experience:

  • Experience of reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts                           
  • Good understanding of key contractual terms and conditions                                      
  • Experience with database entry and accurate document typing                                    
  • Experience of managing multiple projects, competing deadlines and priorities   
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in interpreting complex documents
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a high volume of work
  • Ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrable approach to problem solving and decision making.
