Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for all sales related activity including identifying new clients, arranging and attending meetings, securing new business, and negotiation and production of proposals and agreements.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Promote business growth and development by conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify new leads and secure appointments, ensuring sales targets are met
  • Assisting with marketing campaigns; preparing proposal, presentations and pricing models; attending presentations; implementing and agreeing customer agreements with US Business Manager approval; and supporting the Account Manager in closing sales to grow market share
  • Attending Expos, Trade Fairs and relevant industry events with aim to develop relationships with potential clients and candidates
  • Ongoing client relationship management
  • Arrange all travel and entertainment to meet with new and existing clients

Staffing and Workforce

  • Assist in mentoring and training of junior sales staff
  • Promote a productive and positive work environment


  • Production and analysis of management information as requested.
  • Provide weekly updates concerning new leads, new secured business and existing client relationships
  • Record all travel and entertainment and send expenses to US Business Manager for approval by the end of each week

Candidate requirements

  • A proven track record of successful sales employment history
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of the healthcare market, and specifically nursing, in New York City
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • The ability to adapt sales strategy as a situation demands
  • Self-starter, team player and able to demonstrate proven leadership qualities
  • Able to build and maintain strong customer relationships
